UNIFORM HISTORY

Gold, navy, hot orange and electric blue.

On paper, those colors don’t mix but Oklahoma City has made them work in their scheme since inception in 2008.

Led by one of the NBA’s brightest rising stars in Kevin Durant, the Thunder have taken a classic approach with vibrant colors. On their white homes outlined in black, orange and yellow at the collar and arms, an electric blue side panel that stretches down to the knee works well with red and blue numerals.

Oklahoma City’s “THUNDER” wordmark is prominently displayed across the chest along with “OKC” secondary logos on each side of the shorts. On the road, electric blue is the dominant color with similar accents and navy side panels with white numerals. “THUNDER” is replaced with “OKLAHOMA CITY” outlined in navy.

The Thunder unveiled a navy and white alternate combination in 2012 featuring OKC’s “THUNDER” wordmark stretching vertically down the right side of the jersey with symmetrical stripes. Despite gold being a featured accent color, Oklahoma City has yet to reveal a primarily gold alternate combination.

In just their fourth year out of expansion in 2011, the Thunder won the Western Conference but lost to LeBron James and the Miami Heat in the Finals.
