Butler, a mid-major from Indianapolis, has made quite a name for itself in the last few seasons with consecutive Cinderella trips to the National Championship Game, the first time that’s happened for a school of its stature since 1979.

The recent unprecedented airtime has provided the Bulldogs with a recent Nike apparel update as well with Butler unveiling new system of dress digs prior to the 2011-12 season. Among the most noticeable changes was a modernized collar that featured a primary bulldog logo at the crest.

Butler’s black road uniforms are more sleek without unnecessary contrasting white armpits and collars but navy side panels are nearly impossible to see from a fan’s perspective. White numerals and wordmarks outlined in silver with thin piping down the shorts complete the look.

Butler’s current design is similar to the styles Nike uses at Kentucky, Duke, Syracuse, Gonzaga and Villanova. The Bulldogs first made noise in the 2000 NCAA Tournament when they nearly knocked off heavily-favored Florida in Winston-Salem, NC.

Butler’s been to four Sweet Sixteens since, separating itself in the conversation involving talented mid-major programs. Butler joins the Big East in 2013 after spending one season in the Atlantic 10 Conference.

The Bulldogs were longtime members of the Horizon League before that. Current Bulldogs coach Brad Stevens, considered by many to be college basketball’s best instructor under 40, is signed through the 2021-22 season.
