UNIFORM HISTORY

Prior to the 2011-2012 season, the Boilermakers welcomed a Nike Elite revamp on their basketball uniforms as Purdue transitioned into a new era of apparel design.

The Boilermakers’ home white uniform is accented in black and feature a gold “PURDUE” wordmark without an outline. Though difficult to see on a white base, fans and players alike loved the new threads.

On Purdue’s alternate gold uniforms, numerals shine in black while the “PURDUE” wordmark rests in white without a black outline. The Boilermakers’ all-black get up is outlined in vegas gold with an intimidating black wordmark.

At the crest of all jerseys is Purdue’s motion “P” logo instead of the Boilermakers’ secondary train. Traditional piping on shorts has been replaced with a thick band that goes around the back.

Purdue is one of four Nike teams in the Big Ten that incorporates the company’s new Aerographics into its uniforms joining Michigan State, Minnesota, Illinois and Ohio State. The school added black outline to its home gold wordmark in 2012 for a more readable jersey. Purdue currently has a gray alternate as well with black accents and very little gold.

The program’s “P” logo is just below the hip on each of the team’s collection of shorts. The Boilermakers’ women’s team has been a little more gutsy with their most recent Nike garb, using a wordmark on their home white uniforms that features the first three letters of “PURDUE” in the gold and the final three in black.
