UNIFORM HISTORY

Washington State kickstarted the 2011-12 season with a switch to its current Nike threads that featured a stylized elite collar with a contrasting crest and two stripes down the side panels of jerseys.

A season prior, the Cougars’ “WASHINGTON STATE” wordmark on their Nike road uniforms was double-stacked. Now, it’s noticeably smaller on the recently released road grays and fits on one line.

During the early to mid 2000s, the Cougars donned Russell Athletic uniforms featuring wide collars and a “STATE” wordmark across the chest. At the crest on each uniform combination was the school’s primary cougar logo. The initial wordmarks at the time resembled a similar style currently being worn at Mississippi State.

The Cougars also had a throwback-inspired option with striped armpits, collars and shorts. Before Washington State’s unveiled its latest gray Nike alternate in 2012, the Cougars wore an anthracite-colored combination in 2009.

The school’s primary wordmark was replaced with “COUGS” across the chest but numerals were still crimson. Current gray alternates are free of white accents on jerseys. The Cougars’ current shorts are two-color at the thigh and knee and feature the program’s primary logo on each side panel at the bottom.
