The UTSA Roadrunners currently have a uniform contract with Adidas. We have 2 football uniforms in our database for the UTSA Roadrunners and are working to add more to Uniform Critics. Feel free to contact us with any uniform designs for this team that we may be missing.

Finally, a start-up program gets it right: Less is better.

Like the nearby Rice Owls, Texas San Antonio didn’t take the abrasive uniform approach when it came to selecting a new look with Adidas prior to their first season in 2011. Borrowing a page out of Virginia’s apparel playbook with Nike, the Roadrunners utilized their naturally contrasting navy and orange color base to its fullest potential without going overboard.

With a simplified “UTSA” wordmark, Texas San Antonio made its debut with navy, white and orange options for jerseys and pants. Roadrunner “feathers” are incorporated on the sleeves similar to what Florida Atlantic is doing with its Adidas uniforms in 2013.

A “ROADRUNNERS” wordmark was presented on the program’s first prototypes but ultimately the less-busy “UTSA” was chosen. Texas San Antonio’s navy helmet with the school’s primary logo includes three stripes — a wide orange and two thin whites — down the middle.

Texas San Antonio made the jump into the FBS ranks in 2012 and with that, unveiled a glossy white alternate helmet with its same primary logo. The inclusion of the white lid gives the program almost 20 different uniform options on gameday.

The Roadrunners will become a bowl eligible full FBS member in 2014.
