Marshall will honor the 1970 crash victims with a “75″ on the left side of its helmets. Marshall has worn the helmet two times this year to honor the 1970 plane crash. The first time Marshall wore the helmets was on the 43rd anniversary of the 1970 plane crash that claimed the lives of 75 Marshall University football players, coaches and staff members. The Thundering Herd had not played a game on this date since the devastating crash. This decal is a great way to show the amount of respect the university and community still has for the victims of the crash.
