The Florida Gators currently have a uniform contract with Nike. We have 14 basketball uniforms in our database for the Florida Gators and are working to add more to Uniform Critics. Feel free to contact us with any uniform designs for this team that we may be missing.

During the Gators’ run to back-to-back national titles in the mid 2000s, Nike’s used Florida to debut several new uniform prototypes in the national spotlight.

Revamping a stylized wordmark and font that made its debut in 1998, the swoosh used a “Gator template” for several other Nike-sponsored schools and used ideas from Florida’s initial uniform overhaul in other areas. Florida’s wordmark with curved edges and an emphasized “F” has remained exclusive to Gainesville.

The program’s Nike Hyper Elite Platinum series in 2012 include a shimmery all-gray alternate with orange and blue accents. The uniforms are specifically designed for nine NCAA Championship teams that won national titles wearing Nike footwear and apparel. Hyper Elite shorts are made from 100 percent recycled while the uniform features laser-cut bonded logos. Nameplates on the backs of jerseys are located below the numeral instead of above. That area has been replaced by stars.

A member of Nike’s elite, the Gators were one of eight teams chosen to wear military-specific camouflage alternates in 2012 as part of season openers played on naval ships, air bases or decommissioned aircraft carriers. Florida’s all-orange with blue accent look included camouflage graphics that blended well from head to toe.

Currently, the Gators wear orange at home, blue on the road and have the option of an orange alternate. Very little white is incorporated into either road combination. Florida uses a “GATORS” wordmark on its white look and “FLORIDA” away from home.

The Gators have eliminated a black alternate that was a popular choice in the mid 2000s.
